Class 10 - TEAM SKETCHING, AN EXPLORATION OF SCALE

INSTRUCTOR: Peggy Condon

An Urban Sketchers-Chicago member since June 2014. Peggy's education includes a BFA-painting and drawing, a certificate in mechanical drafting. Work and courses in landscape design and landscape architecture have strongly influenced the development of this class "Team Sketching" to explore merging scale drawing techniques and individual drawing styles to create a mosaic site illustration.

LOCATION:

Meet at the French Market, 131 N Clinton St, near Vanille and the Chicago Green Market stalls

BREAKDOWN OF 2.5 HOUR CLASS

15 min.	Introduction, orientation, review handouts
15 min.	Demonstration and discussion of methods
30 min.	Exercise. Practice applying the methods to small elements of the site
15 min.	Group discussion, share questions and tips within the group
1 hour.	Sketch. Apply the methods to interpret a large scene.
15 min.	Participate in a wrap-up discussion, group photo, quick survey

SUPPLY LIST:

• A regular ruler and your preferred drawing supplies, .
• Optional: clear 6-inch scale at 1:10 and 1:8
